Ali Aghili

Composer · Esfahan, Iran

Ali Aghili (b. 1995) is a composer with a background in contemporary classical and minimalist music. He began his musical journey playing the setar at age 13 and later developed an interest in electric guitar and blues through self-study. Aghili studied Persian music performance at Sepehr University in Esfahan, where he also trained in music theory, composition, and orchestration. His work includes orchestral pieces, quartets, and a quintet, drawing on influences such as Arvo Pärt, Alfred Schnittke, Johnny Greenwood, and Edgard Varèse.
His compositions explore time, structure, and musical form, seeking to move beyond linear progression and create a sense of relative timelessness.
