Ramin Ashtari (b. 1984) is a visual artist from Tehran whose practice moves across painting, sculpture, sound, and photography, depending on the needs of each project. He earned a B.A. in painting and later expanded his work into interdisciplinary and media-based approaches. His public profile also presents him as a modern painter and interior art designer, suggesting an active practice that bridges studio work, spatial design, and visual production.
His piece "CNC Machines and more" on Noise à Noise 23: Noise vs. Silence was recorded in a woodworking workshop in Iran: the drone and buzz of CNC machines, the hum of electricity, the compressor and the pumps, centred on the sounds of the machinery shutting down. He also conceived and designed the graphics for that compilation.
