Shaahin Peymani
Composer, Sound Artist, Educator · Tehran / Berlin
Shaahin Peymani (b. 1990) is a sound artist and composer based in Tehran and Berlin. He often works with found sounds, field recordings, and archival material. By recomposing concrete sounds and processed speech into collages, his work explores human perception and the deconstruction of language in audio culture. He seeks to redefine listening by transforming sound from an indication of its source into an abstract structural object.
Shaahin studied Textile Engineering and Composition in Tehran, and Sound Studies and Sonic Arts in Berlin. His artistic practice includes sound installations, audiovisual performances, and composition and sound design for film, animation, theatre, and dance.
