Ehsan Saboohi

Ehsan Saboohi (b. 1981, Tehran) is an Iranian composer and music lecturer whose work bridges traditional Persian music with contemporary composition. Holding an M.A. in Composition from the Art University of Tehran, he has received international awards including Kharkov Conservatory's Diploma of Honor and Free-Scores' Prize. His catalog features Symphony No. 1, chamber works like Nowruz and Leyli and Majnun, plus arrangements for wind orchestra. Currently based in Washington D.C., Saboohi coined 'Post-Orientalism' to describe his innovative microtonal language.
