Stampf!
Free Improvisation Duo · Germany / Taiwan
Members Rübezahl (electronics, xaphoon), Malikah (tap dance, voice)
Played with Zhoobin Askarieh
Stampf! is a duo of Rübezahl from Germany and Malikah from Taiwan. Together they rode their bicycles across Eurasia, all the way from Germany to Taiwan, playing shows, jamming and exchanging music and ideas with the people they met on the way, through Switzerland, Slovenia, Ukraine, Serbia, Albania and Greece.
Rübezahl is an electronic musician who builds his own instruments and plays the xaphoon, a cross between a flute and a saxophone, which he extends with effect processing. Malikah is a tap dancer and vocalist from Taiwan; beyond the rhythms of tap dance she brings objects found on site into her performance, and always carries a small metal hand drum.
Together they make a funky mélange of experimental soundscapes, improvised tap rhythms and wild performance: unique and deliciously entertaining.
