Başar Ünder

Başar Ünder is an Istanbul-based composer, sound designer, and lecturer whose work moves between film, games, electronic music, and experimental sound practices. His artistic output explores electronic music, noise, and narrative, and has included original scores, solo improvisation, and sound-focused performance work. He is also active in education, teaching game audio and sound-related courses across several universities.

He studied Sociology at Istanbul University and completed graduate studies in Sound Engineering and Design / Music Advanced Studies at ITU MIAM. In 2006, he worked as a resident composer at IMEB in Bourges with UNESCO Aschberg Bursaries support, and in 2014 he received the Best Music Award at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival for Song of My Mother. He became a member of the European Film Academy in 2017.
