Electroacoustic and Audiovisual Duo · Tehran / Toronto
Members Deniz Tafaghodi, Farbod Maeen
Zerone Duo is an interdisciplinary duo founded in Tehran in 2018 by Iranian composer-performers Deniz Tafaghodi and Farbod Maeen. Drawing on the idea of zero and one, the duo explores the relationship between opposites, translating architectural patterns, everyday sounds, and overlooked sonic details into immersive musical and audiovisual works.
Their practice moves across electroacoustic composition, live performance, theater, film, contemporary dance, and animation. Through projects such as 33 1/3, Duet for Cable and Piano, Ayvan, and 35.70993° N, 51.39903° E, Zerone Duo creates multi-sensory experiences that connect sound, image, movement, and space across different artistic contexts.
