Stefan Tiefengraber

Interdisciplinary Artist · Linz, Austria

Stefan Tiefengraber lives and works in Linz, Austria. His practice ranges from kinetic sound installations and interactive works to audio-video noise performances and experimental film. Through the modification of devices originally designed for other purposes, he explores the possibilities of sound and image, often using no-input techniques, feedback, and self-made systems to generate unpredictable results.

Tiefengraber’s work is shaped by contrasts such as noise and silence, light and darkness, control and accident. He has presented his works at numerous national and international festivals and exhibitions, including Ars Electronica, the Japan Media Arts Festival, New Media Gallery, WRO Biennale, and TodaysArt. Since 2016, he has also co-organized sound art concerts and helped found Tresor Linz, a space for sound art and artistic experimentation.
