Sam Eyvaz

Sam Eyvaz is a multidisciplinary producer, DJ and instrumentalist from Tehran, based in Berlin since 2015, where he also works as a live performer, curator and cultural project manager. He began in classical music as a violinist and violist in symphonic and modern orchestras, then played drums in indie, punk and rock bands, and composed music and soundtracks for theatre with a cinematic sense of atmosphere, narrative and emotional depth.

Drawn to experimental, ambient and rave music and to Berlin's electronic scene, his work moved towards exploratory and dance music, in sound as well as in concept; his live sets combine techno, ambient textures and synthetic viola. His releases include the album Ascendance (Sindex Placid 008).

He is the founder and curator of Future East Festival, which since 2020 has presented electronic, electroacoustic and audiovisual performances, immersive club nights and virtual 360° shows, with editions at Musikbrauerei Berlin, connecting artists from many cultural backgrounds.
