The sixth edition of our performance series at PAS Berlin is dedicated to the premiere performance of Burnt Sand Learning to Sing by Chi Him Chik, Aquiles Hadjis and Aiii.

The album arises from an open, responsive exchange of sound and instinct between Venezuelan-born artist Aquiles Hadjis and Hong Kong media artist Chi Him Chik. Hadjis, known for sculptural approaches to improvisation and cross-media dialogue, meets Chik's performances shaped by chaos, reflection and emotion; their conversation expands through Aiii, a digital improvisation system developed by Chik that listens, responds and learns as a third voice.

The evening opens with a multimedia performance by Naomi Xila-Xulis and sets by Sophie-T and Pelk Ensemble before the main act, where Chi Him Chik performs Burnt Sand Learning to Sing using hardware by Aquiles Hadjis and the Aiii system.
