Sina Shoaie

Sina Shoaie (born 1986, Tehran, Iran) is a composer, sound designer, and music entrepreneur currently based in Toronto, Canada. He began his musical journey in 1996 on flute and subsequently moved to Ukraine for six years, graduating from the Kiev University of Technology and Design (KNUTD) in Urban Furniture Design (BSc), while also earning a diploma in Sound Design from the same institution. From 2008 onward, he has conducted ongoing research into the analysis of the relationship between frequencies and the biochemistry of the human body, leading to workshops, conferences, and performances across Tehran and Kyiv. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing from the University of Tehran, and a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from Tehran University, reflecting his dual identity as both an artist and a music entrepreneur. His works span ambient, noise, and electroacoustic genres, and have been featured in notable exhibitions and venues including the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts (TMoCA), the STUK Art Centre in Belgium, the National Museum of Fine Art Quebec (MNBAQ) in Canada, and the Fajr International Theatre Festival. He has released four concept albums and performed across Canada, Europe, and the Middle East, at events including the Tehran Contemporary Music Festival and Inter-Access Toronto (2023). He is the founder of the independent label Alien n' Proud (est. 2018), co-founder of RADIO XARGOOSH (podcast and audio drama, est. 2019), and founder of the creative platform SHISHEPISHE (est. 2014). He has released music on Noise à Noise, Post-Orientalism, and Alien n' Proud, and has collaborated with artists including Anahita Norouzi and Leonie Roessler. As a sound designer, he worked with Simiya Group (2018–2023) and has taught sound design at INVERSE School (2015–2018). He is currently active as a producer at Simiya Group (Toronto, since 2025).
