Parsa Hadavi

Composer, Violinist, Pianist · Paris, France

Parsa Hadavi (born 1995, Gorgan, Iran) is a composer–researcher based in Paris, whose practice centers on the intersection of ecology, science, and musical creation. He began music training at age 4 under his father's instruction and focused on violin from age 8 as his primary instrument. He later pursued professional composition studies with Idin Samimi Mofakham and Martyna Kosecka, and piano with Martyna Kosecka and Niloofar Badrikoohi. An interdisciplinary artist, he holds a background in both architecture and astrophysics — he studied architecture and urbanism at the Tehran University of Art (2014–2018) before moving to Europe. At the Royal Conservatory of Mons in Belgium (2019–2021), he studied instrumental and electroacoustic composition under Claude Ledoux, Geoffrey François, and Gilles Gobert. He subsequently studied music theory and composition at the CRR de Boulogne-Billancourt (Georges Gorse Center), and further in Paris under Jean-Luc Hervé and Roque Rivas at the Spectro Center for New Music. He is currently pursuing Computer-Assisted Composition and Musicology at Université Paris 8, where he is affiliated with the MUSIDANSE research unit (EA 1572). His compositional research focuses on ecological approaches to musical creation, from which he developed the Multi-dimensional Composition System — a method that evolves perception in composition from both the composer's and listener's perspectives. His works include 'Pathos/Ellipse IV. Hommage à Xenakis' (premiered at Université Paris 8, January 2024) and '[F.O.R…]' for clarinet, electronics, and video (performed by Juliette Adam, L'Itinéraire). He also performs free improvisation and has presented work at events including the 'Interpréter/Performer Xenakis' series and various new music platforms in Paris.
