Music for Black Sine Wave: Payman Abdali at Zwitschermaschine

Payman Abdali performed Music for Black Sine Wave at Zwitschermaschine, the project space on Potsdamer Straße, three days before the album came out on aNoise.

The project began in July 2023, when composer and Post-Orientalism theorist Ehsan Saboohi published 24 unprocessed bass compositions for sine wave on Noise à Noise and invited artists from music, painting, cinema and literature to answer them. Payman Abdali's response moves away from traditional Dastgaah structures, with intervals that are neither micro nor macro and never fixed, and turns the sound blocks into images of the composer's life and identity.
