Interim Dissonance

Interim Dissonance is an audiovisual duo founded somewhere in Berlin's nightlife by Lilu Herlambang (A.V.Suals) and Dr. Nexus. They create dissonance not just as noise or visual rupture, but as a phenomenon rooted in inherited imbalance: glitches, distortions and signal breakdowns become raw material, revealing the negative space of communication and embracing error as expression. Their live performances grow out of improvisation and structured contrast, an audiovisual experience shaped by absence, interruption and unresolved harmony, where dissonance becomes a way of uncovering what lies beneath. In November 2025 they performed at the Piksel festival in Bergen.

A.V.Suals blurs the boundary between what is seen and what is heard: every flicker of light and every visual error becomes a potential sound source, and the visual becomes the beginning of notation. Dr. Nexus is an electronic, electroacoustic and voice improviser and visual artist who came from the fine arts (painting, sculpture, sound installations, performance) and has explored sound art, experimental, noise and industrial music for about 30 years.
