Chem XP – Roux‑Ga‑Roux

Chem XP – Roux‑Ga‑Roux

Pittsburgh–Berlin, December 5th, 2025 – aNoise announces the pre‑order and upcoming release of Roux‑Ga‑Roux, a new album by Chem XP (Chaz Washington). Written and recorded between 2023 and 2024, the record follows a mythology born in the swamps of Louisiana, where a guttural creature called the Roux‑Ga‑Roux turns scraps, old guitars and noise into its own language of rhythm and texture.

Chem XP is a multimedia artist and experimental musician based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, working across sound, sculpture, graphic design, installations, projections and fashion, after earlier years in Austin, Texas. His practice often blurs the line between performance, visual art and recorded music, and Roux‑Ga‑Roux continues this trajectory in ten dense, narrative‑driven tracks.

At the center of the album stands the Roux‑Ga‑Roux itself: a half‑man, half‑wolf figure who lives apart from classical and Western schools of music, composing from an internal dance that gradually becomes external as the record unfolds. Noisy hisses, metallic textures and distorted low‑end become the creature’s howl, marking territory from a post‑club perspective while leaving space for flashes of vulnerability and a stubbornly human core.

Roux‑Ga‑Roux will be available for digital pre‑order on December 5th, 2025 via aNoise, with full release scheduled for January 20th, 2026. Cover photography is by Sarah Dye Washington.
