Howling Mystics and Ruido Polimnix – HLUBINA

HLUBINA — Digital Pre-Order and album Premiere Performance in Berlin.

Berlin, October 2025

We are pleased to announce the digital pre-order of HLUBINA, the new collaborative album by Howling Mystics and Ruido Polimnix, alongside its premiere performance in Berlin.

The collaboration between Howling Mystics (Unknown / Kopelyan) and Ruido Polimnix (Seriakov / Videira) emerged from a shared artistic vision of sonic exploration. Each of the participating artists has been active for several years within Berlin’s experimental music scene — performing, curating, and organizing events in renowned venues such as Ausland, Kühlspot, PAS Berlin, and Hošek Contemporary, among others.

Howling Mystics is the duo of Oleksandra Kopelyan (growthrings) and Max (Margaret Unknown), whose sound oscillates between primal noise and hypnotic pulses through the use of a lapsteel guitar, a Korg Minilogue, tape recorders, and some sophisticated combination of pedals. Their live performances are ritualistic in nature, blending ancient vocal harmonies with modern technological discord. A defining element of their shows is the integration of dream machines—stroboscopic flickering light art devices designed by Brion Gysin and Ian Sommerville—enhancing the immersive quality of their music.

Ruido Polimnix is the project of Cate Hops and Lun Ário, merging synthesizers, contact microphones, voice, effect pedals, and resampling techniques to create intricate soundscapes. Their music evokes a fragmented, glitch-laden universe, where sonic elements crackle, pop, and distort into abstract dimensions.

Their encounter at Experimontag — a long-running weekly event dedicated to experimental music and sound art at Madame Claude in Kreuzberg — marked the beginning of this collaboration. Following that meeting, Howling Mystics invited Ruido Polimnix to initiate a joint project. What followed was an immersive 40-minute live recording, shaped by a mutual understanding of sound and aesthetics — both kindred and contrasting in character.

aNoise (formerly ‘Noise à Noise’) is an open-community, independent, artist-run record label operating between Iran and Germany, with roots in Tehran. HLUBINA will be officially go on pre-order before its premiere performance on October 30th at Villa Kuriosum, Berlin and will be released in two months.

A limited cassette edition will be available via our collaborating label from Czech ‘Hlubina’, with a few physical copies offered at the event.
